Hammons Family Pastalaya Fundraiser March 21
Long time residents of Central are in need of financial support. Stephen and Kayla Hammons, parents of four children, have recently found that medical conditions will be keeping them from working for the foreseeable future. Stephen has been experiencing seizures since November of 2014 that prevent him from driving or working, and at this time, doctors are unable to find a diagnosis. Kayla has been struggling with her health as well, and she stays at home to care for her husband and for their children. The Hammons family is living primarily off of donations at this time until a cause and treatment can be found.
A fundraiser is being held on Saturday, March 21 at Central Winn Dixie to help cover the family’s living and medical expenses as they go through this difficult time. Pastalaya will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 21 in the Central Winn Dixie parking lot at the corner of Hooper and Joor Road. Tickets are being sold now and will be available on the day of the event, but advance purchase is preferable. Purchase tickets in advance at Merle Norman Studio and Salon, next door to the AT&T store in the shopping center at the corner of Wax and Sullivan Road. Pastalaya is $6 per plate (including salad and bread), and baked goods will be sold for dessert for $1 each. Tickets will also be sold for $5 for the drawing to win a Remington 308. The drawing for the Remington will be held on Sunday, March 22. If you cannot attend the fundraiser but would like to donate, donations may also be made online at http://www.gofundme.com/HammonsFamily.
