CHS Baseball Update
By Coach Fresina
The Central High Baseball team traveled to the “Frozen North,” West Monroe, Louisiana this past weekend for the West Monroe Tournament. The Wildcats were able to play 3 of its 4 games scheduled, gaining two more wins. Unfortunately, the Wildcats suffered their first loss of the season, dropping an extra inning game to Holy Cross 4-3. The team bounced back like champions Saturday morning, beating Haughton High and Eunice High. The Wildcats had great pitching all weekend. Brennan Fontenot had a two-run home run, his first of the year.
The Wildcats are off to an 8-1 start for the season, and ranked in the top 5 in the power rankings. The Cats will be in action this weekend in a Denham High host tournament. Thursday, the Cats will host Catholic High as part of the tournament at 7:00, travel to Catholic on Friday to play Lafayette High at 4:00, and finish Saturday with two games at Walker against West Ouachita at 10:00 and Fountainbleau at 4:00. Come out and support your Wildcats!
