Boys’ Bowling:  Central Boys (7-0) cruised to another victory on Monday (2-23-15) against Zachary (5-2) at Circle Bowl.  The Wildcats continued their dominant bowling by wrapping up the match after the first two games by winning Game 1 6.5-1.5 (1024-775) and Game 2 8-0 (1004-833).  With the 14 points needed to win the match, Central emptied the bench and rolled a 994 (to Zachary’s 795) in Game 3.  Overall the Wildcats won 24.5-2.5 and 3022-2403 in Total Pins.
Parker Aucoin (Sophomore) led the team with a 593 (210 game) and Jacob Garretson (Senior/Captain) followed with a 589 series (211) and Jonathan Ryder (Junior) rolled a nice 537 (204) and 51 pins over average.  Zachary was led by Dominic Taylor with a 560 series (202).  So far this season, Garretson currently leads the District with a 209 average and Aucoin is second with a 203.
With a victory this week, Central will be in line for a 3rd straight District Title which they can win outright with a victory against Broadmoor (6-1) next Wednesday (3-4-15) at Circle Bowl.
Girls’ Bowling:  On Tuesday (2-23-15) The Wildcats (7-0) won their school record seventh straight match with an easy win over second year team St Amant (3-3).  The Gators have improved tremendously over the past two seasons, but Central’s depth proved to be too much to overcome.
The Wildcats won all three games, winning Game 1 6-2 (932-790), Game 2 8-0 (900-654) and Game 3 6-2 (872-689). With the 3 bonus points for Total Pins, the Wildcats cruised to a 23-4 (2704-2133 Total Pins) victory.  Sarah LeDuff (Junior) led the way with an outstanding 608 series (230 game), Haley Young (Senior/Captain) rolled a nice 564 (235) and Brianna McCurley (Sophomore) had a 444.  The Gators were led by Morgan Lebourgeois’ 457 (172).  Individually, LeDuff currently leads all girls in the Baton Rouge area with a 188 average and Young is third with a 181.
With a victory this week, Central will guarantee no worse than a share of the District Title.  Then next Wednesday (3-4-15) at Circle Bowl, the Wildcats will take on St Joseph’s (5-1) for the District Title.  A win in that match means Central will win District in back to back years.
