Flu Bug Can’t Derail Central Bowling Teams

By  |

By Coach Godley
Even with both teams having flu issues, CHS Bowling kept on chugging along this past week and both teams improved to 6-0 at the midway point of the season.  The boys picked up wins over Madison Prep (2-3) and Redemptorist (2-3), while the girls scored a win over Redemptorist (1-5).
On Monday (2-9-15) at Circle Bowl, the boys won all three games fairly easily winning Game 1 6-2 (978-879), Game 2 7-1 (1014-873) and Game 3 6-2 (911-806).  Overall, the Wildcats won by a final score of 22-5 (2903-2558 Total Pins) with Dylan Ringo (Sophomore) leading the way with a nice 605 series (211, 209, 185), followed by Jacob Garretson’s (Senior/Captain) 599 (178, 203, 218).  Parker Wales (Sophomore) also had a nice set rolling his first LHSAA 500 series with games of 148, 184, 168.  On Wednesday (2-11-15) at Circle Bowl, the outcome was very similar for the boys.  The Wildcats won all three games once again fairly easy by winning Game 1 7-1 (991-771), Game 2 6-2 (940-818) and Game 3 8-0 (993-826).  Overall the Wildcats defeated the Wolves 24-3 (2924-2415).  Garretson led the way with a solid 659 (231, 225, 203), with Ringo rolling a 561 (213) and Bryce Delaune (Sophomore) chipping in a 540 (189).
Also on Wednesday (2-11-15), the girls (bowling without 3 starters) kept their undefeated season alive and defeated Redemptorist 25.5-1.5 and 1975-819.  The Wildcats won each game winning Game 1 8-0 (676-273), Game 2 8-0 (714-246) and Game 3 6.5-1.5 (585-300).  Brittnee Robinson (Sophomore) led the Wildcats with a 427 series (154 game).
With a week off from competition, hopefully the teams can shake the flu bug and get back to normal.  The boys are back in action on Monday (2-23-15) at Circle Bowl against Zachary (5-1) for 1st Place in the District.  The girls bowl again on Tuesday (2-24-15) at Premier Lanes against St Amant (3-2).  Both matches start at 3:15PM.
