Mardi Gras Events at the Library
Looking to celebrate your Mardi Gras a little differently this year? Try the series of events held at your local public Library. A complete list and more information are on the Library’s online calendar at www.ebrpl.com. The schedule includes:
Mysterious Mardi Gras Mask Craft for Teens
It is carnival season and you’ve got to be ready for the masquerade! Teens can come to the Pride-Chaneyville Branch Library at 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, to make a uniquely mysterious Mardi Gras mask using fabric and puffy paint just in time for Fat Tuesday! (225) 658-1540
Fun Voodoo Doll Feltie Craft for Teens
Teens can come to the Greenwell Springs Road Regional Branch Library at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, to make a voodoo doll feltie craft as an alternative to traditional Valentine crafts. (225) 274-4440
It’s a Mardi Gras Celebration!
We’ve go the carnival music playing and you’re invited to join us for the fun! Children ages 3-5 can come to the Pride-Chaneyville Branch at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, to march in a Mardi Gras parade around the building, listen to stories about the holiday and create a cool masquerade mask! Mardi Gras Jester Hat Story/Craft
Children ages 3-5 can come to the Greenwell Springs Road Regional Branch Library at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, to participate in the local bead season by listening to the colorful story Mardi Gras in New Orleans: An Alphabet Book by Karen Jansen. Later, we’ll make a wearable purple, gold and green jester hat made from paper. Registration is required. (225) 274-4440
Fleurdelicious Story/Craft
Come to the Central Branch Library at 4:30 p.m. Monday, February 16, to celebrate carnival season and hear a reading of Fleurdelicious by Mary Beth Touzet. Later, children ages 3-6 will make Mardi Gras wreaths decorated with colorful fleur de lis! Registration is required. (225) 262-2640
