Two Central Students Chosen for All State Choir
Two Central Teens were recently selected to participate in the LMEA and ACDA All-state Honors Choirs. The girls, Kaelyn Kendrick and Hannah Turner, had to submit solo audition recordings and were chosen to participate in the ACDA choir. Kaelyn was a member of the youth choir (grades 7-9) and Hannah a member of the Women’s choir (grades 10-12). The All-State event took place in New Orleans where they spent 3 days in rehersals followed by the concert. Kaelyn and Hannah also auditioned for the LMEA High school Choir. They were both chosen through a live audition and sight reading to move on to the second round of auditions. This took place in Pineville, Louisiana. Kaelyn was chosen in Soprano 1 voice part and Hannah was chosen in Sorpano 2 voice part to move on to the LMEA All state Choir. The 2 teens rehearsed for several days and then performed in a concert at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge. The choir consisted of approximately 150 High School students from across the state. Kaelyn Kendrick is a freshman at Central High School and Hannah Turner is a junior through LPCC. Both Kaelyn and Hannah were submitted for these choirs through LPCC where they are both members of Chorlae.
