From the City of Central

As part of ongoing safety improvements along roadways in our area, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) will install new signs at several intersections and locations along state highways in Central to improve visibility at night.  These projects are part of a low-cost safety improvement program.  The improvements in Central include:

1.  Advance Intersection Ahead signs on Greenwell Springs Rd (LA37) at Wax Rd and new larger Stop signs on Wax Rd.

2.  Advance Intersection Ahead signs on Greenwell Springs Rd (LA37) at Hooper Rd (LA408); two oversize Stop Ahead signs on Hooper Rd prior to Greenwell Springs Rd; and larger Stop signs on Hooper Rd.

3.  Advance Intersection Ahead signs on LA64 at Joor Rd and larger Stop signs on Joor Rd at LA64.

4.  Advance Intersection Ahead signs on Magnolia Bridge Rd (LA3034) at Wax Rd (by Demco), as well as larger Stop signs on Wax Rd.

5.  Advance Curve Ahead signs and Chevron (Curve) signs on LA64 in the curve west of Hubbs Rd.

6.  Advance Curve Ahead signs and 12 pairs of Chevron signs on Blackwater Rd (LA410) in the curve between Core Lane and Carey Rd

7.  Advance Curve Ahead signs and 20 pairs Chevron signs on Blackwater Rd in the large S-curve between McCullough Rd and Arleen Ave.

All of these signs should be installed within the next few months as part of a DOTD contract.
