CHS Boys Soccer Wins ACH Lions Cup

The Central High Boys soccer team is off to a good start with a 3-2 overall record. Over the Thanksgiving Holiday they played in the inaugural ACH Lions Cup held at Ascension Christian High School in Gonzales. Thanks to a great team effort they dominated both games and won by a combined score of 9-0. The stealer defense only gave up two shots on goal in both games. They were lead by Conner Burns and Justin Jernigan. Brady Munn and Noah Fralick played great on the outside keeping everyone shut down. Freshman Chandler Richard was able to claim his second and third clean sheets for the season. His first came against Plaquemine High in the Walker Kick Off Classic. Leading the team so far on the offensive side is Junior Ross Melton with 6 goals and 2 assists along with Senior David Gutierrez who has 2 goals and 2 assists. Kyle Kennedy has been holding down the center of the field and doing a great job of managing the game. The team starts district play this week against powerful Denham Springs and Zachary. You are all invited to come out and take in a great match.
