A Wildcat Send Off For Billy Flowers

On Thursday, August 28th, a funeral service was held for William O. “Billy” Flowers, a volunteer firefighter for Central and an avid supporter of Wildcat football. As the procession passed, Central High football players lined the road to honor Billy. CHS Football Coach Sid Edwards said of him, “He was a true supporter and a dyed in the wool maroon and grey Wildcat. Nothing fake about him. I trusted him and respected him – my type of person. REAL CENTRAL. If our town had more like Billy Flowers, it would be a better place. He deserved that send off by our boys. Bought the highest honor a true supporter could receive!”
