CPS Welcomes New Principal

    Central Private School’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce its selection of Charles W. (Chuck) Hoots as Principal.  Mr. Hoots has an extensive background as an educational leader and teacher in the State of Illinois.  Over the past thirty years, Mr. Hoots has served as a principal and central office administrator in rural, suburban, and urban settings.  In addition to serving as a principal and administrator, Mr. Hoots has held the positions of dean of students, athletic director, assistant principal, director of secondary education, and director of district alternative programs. He has most recently served for the past three years as Principal of Eisenhower High School in Decatur, IL. 
    Mr. Hoots is currently part of an Educational Doctorate program through St. Louis University, where he has completed all formal course work for the degree and is in the process of scheduling the required comprehensive examinations.  Mr. Hoots earned his superintendent’s endorsement through St. Louis University and holds a Masters’ Degree and a principals’ endorsement from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Additionally, Mr. Hoots received a Bachelor’s degree from Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois, and has taken advanced course work in Educational Administration at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL.
    Mr. Hoots is looking forward to the challenge of administering and working in a private school system.   He is the parent of one daughter, Elizabeth, who lives in the Springfield, Illinois, area.  While in the Springfield area, Mr. Hoots was active in his church.   Mr. Hoots looks forward to moving to the Baton Rouge area and experiencing both the warmer climate and LSU athletics.
    Mr. Hoots looks forward to meeting our school families at the September Open House(s).
