Proposed Official Zoning Map Workshops Thursday

    Copies of the Proposed Official Zoning Map for the City of Central are available on the City of Central’s website www.centralgov.com/assets/maps/NZC_03132014.pdf. Additionally, printed copies are available for inspection at: Central City Services, 6703 Sullivan Road, Central, LA 70739
    Two additional Council Workshops will be held to receive public comment regarding the Proposed Official Zoning Map for the City of Central prior to consideration by the City of Central Council.
    Workshop I will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2014 at the meeting room of the Central Community School System Administrative Offices located at 10510 Joor Road, Suite 300, City of Central, LA 70818 to consider proposed changes to the Official Zoning Map for properties currently in nonresidential zoning categories. Proposed Amendment to the Official Zoning Map – all properties in a nonresidential zoning category on June 1, 2014 which have existing nonresidential structures: a. occupied prior to July 11, 2005; or b. constructed in accordance with a site plan approved by the City of Central; or c. for which a building permit was issued by the City of Central on or before July 1, 2014; shall retain the zoning in effect for the property on June 1, 2014.
    Workshop II will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2014 at the meeting room of the Central Community School System Administrative Offices located at 10510 Joor Road, Suite 300, City of Central, LA 70818 to consider proposed changes to the Official Zoning Map for any property zoned for residential use or Rural/Agriculture (R/A). Proposed Amendment to the Official Zoning Ordinance for R/A Zoning – retain a minimum lot size of 1 acre for all properties designated as Rural/Agriculture on the 2010 Land Use Plan except those properties in designated for Conservation and Restrictive Green Space and Incentive Green Space which shall be subject to a minimum lot size of 3 acres.
