Upcoming Football Practices for BR Homeschool Eagles
The Baton Rouge Homeschool Eagles will have their spring football practices the weeks of May 19th and 26th on Monday, Thursday, and Friday 5:00-7:00 PM, at Plank Rd BREC Park in Zachary. Eagles Strength and Conditioning workout schedule (Tuesdays 6:30-8PM, Saturdays 8-9:30AM at Pennington YMCA Old Hammond Hwy) will remain the same as always through that period. These spring practices will be used to teach offensive and defensive basic schemes, special teams, and overall fundamentals. The Eagles will not be having a spring game this year. Instead they will focus on fundamental drills.
The Eagles would also like to announce the addition of two new coaches to the staff. Dr. Ken Coleman served as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the LSU football and baseball programs. He practiced in both Houston and Lafayette areas before returning to Baton Rouge to open Capitol City Chiropractic in 2002. He is licensed as a Chiropractic Physician by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners. Coach Duncan Johnson played for the Army Football team at West Point. He played cornerback and special teams for Army, lettering 3 years. Post graduation, his first assignment in the Army was as coach at the West Point Prep School in New Jersey as Defensive Back coach and Assistant Defensive Coordinator. During his time in Germany he was the Offensive Coordinator for the Amberg Red Devils men’s football team.
