In Memoriam: Carmen McNabb

    "Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears The Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise." Proverbs 31: 30-31. Carmen Miller McNabb, a native and resident of Central, passed away Thursday evening, March 6, 2014, in Fort Worth,Texas at the age of 86 with her devoted husband at her side. She was a loving and faithful woman who devoted her life to serving in the ministry alongside her beloved husband. From their beginnings combining rural pastorates and seminary study until the end of her days, countless hearts and souls were nurtured and healed by her compassion and grace.

    Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Central, on Monday, March 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes at Zoar Baptist Church, Central, on Tuesday from 1p.m. until funeral service at 2 p.m., conducted by Revs. Paul Taylor and Kevin Hand with graveside service following at Zoar Cemetery. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 64 years, Harold G. McNabb; two children: Lindy and Steve Wyatt, David and Faith McNabb; three grandchildren: Whitney and Tom Linz, Jonathan McNabb, Lori and John Johnson; two great grandchildren: Micah and Evangeline Grace Johnson; one uncle, Walter Bliss; and a host of cousins and friends.

    She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Marion (Mammy) Miller, and one brother Lawrence (Laurie) Miller. Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
