In Memoriam: Carmen Tortorich Borne

    Carmen Tortorich Borne a native of Chalmette and resident of Baton Rouge, 1951 graduate of Istrouma High School and a retired employee of USDA-National Finance Center in New Orleans passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the age of 79.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Joseph Borne, parents Marguerite Baron Tortorich and Frank Tortorich, her sister Catherine and brother Baron. She was a devoted mother to four children, Sharon Litolff and husband Ronnie, Vicki Downey and husband Kenneth, Glenn Borne and wife Michelle and Connie Livaccari and husband JT. She was abundantly blessed with eight grandchildren, Jodi, Eric, Janel, Ryan, Derek, Jessica, James and Celina. Eleven great-grandchildren, Giancarlo, Giuliana, Matthew, Alyssa, Brianna, Taylor, Dylan, Kaya, Anji, Cullen and Camden and one great-great grandchild, Devo. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank and Jay Tortorich and one sister, Linda Tortorich Johnson. 
    She loved cooking and having her family over to eat and play cards. She also enjoyed sharing her recipes with her grandchildren and going to the casino. She will be sadly missed by family and loved ones.
    Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Central on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in St. Bernard.
