“Hotshots 19” Memorial Workout & Fundraiser Raises $1,500

By  |
On Saturday, August 31st, the CrossFit here in Central hosted an event to raise money in memory of the 19 firefighters who died on June 30, 2013 fighting an out-of-control wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona.  Participants made donations, and more than $250,000 has been raised nationally for the families of the fallen firefighters through CrossFits around the country.  Check out https://hotshots19.crossfit.com/ to contribute.
Jason, the owner of Central Crossfit, said that all together here in Central, we raised $1,500 for the families of the Hotshots 19.  We had 9 people from Central Fire Department show up and participate at the event.  Everyone did their best, and it was a ROUGH workout with six rounds of the following exercises, done for time: 30 air squats, 19 power cleans at 135 pounds (adjusted according to ability), 7 pull-ups, and a 400-meter run.  Thank you to everyone who came out to support this cause!
