Central Bloomers Garden Club welcomed Sarah Rayner, a butterfly expert, at the home of Bren Truett on June 16.  Sarah spoke on raising butterflies and the proper way to construct a garden just for them. She showed all the stages of butterfly life, and how to identify the eggs, caterpillars  and cocoons on plants.
She shared tips on constructing a garden that would promote them. Butterfly gardens should be comprised of host plants such as Milkweed, Dill, Passion Flower vine and even Willow trees. Nectar plants such as Butterfly Weed, Geranium, Coneflower and Plumbego. Shelter, water source and sunning spots are also necessary for butterflies.
