CAPA Corner: Cats in the Cradle
Life's just too busy isn't it! We've got way too much to do. This whole devotion thing was meant for simpler times, right? Surely God doesn't expect for us in this day and time to devote ourselves to Him completely, does He? Can I get an amen!
I mean if God saw my day-planner He'd realize that I'm swamped and cut me some slack.
We may never verbalize things quite this way but I wonder is this not what God hears? Our life speaks volumes.
In my mind I hear God as a loving Father say, “I'd love to talk with you awhile, maybe spend some quality time together.” The answer I most often hear (yes I answer myself) is in the form of a song, “The new job's a hassle and the kids have the flu but it's sure nice talking to you, Dad, It's been sure nice talking to you.”
Be honest, how often does your relationship with God impact your life, change the way you live, altar your decision making paradigm? Or does “living” get in the way of such thoughts?
