Central All-Stars are State Champs!

    We were attending the American Softball Association (ASA), Class B, State Championship Tournament in Hammond July 6th-7th.  We played in the 14 U (14 and under) age group and we won 1st Place!  Some of our parents and competitors referred to us as the “Cinderella Team” because we came back from almost impossible odds to win the tournament – we lost our 2 “pool” games and also lost our first game of bracket play.  Then we came back on Sunday morning and starting winning – we played and beat every team and made our way to the championship series to face an undefeated team.  We beat that team twice to win the championship.
    Because we are State Champions, we are now planning a trip to the ASA, Class B National Championship Tournament in Johnson City, Tennessee August 1st-4th.  Special thanks to the Central Area Youth League, Mike and Jennifer Breaux (PODS), and many other Central area supporters and businesses that are making our road to the National Championship a possibility.
    We are holding a team fundraiser next Tuesday, July 23rd at the Sonic on Hooper Road from 5pm until 8pm.  Funds from this event will help us make our way to the National Championship Tournament.
