A Jumpstart For a Lifetime of Learning

    Burning Heart Christian Fellowship will be offering a valuable training free of charge on how to give your 0-6 year old a great jump start on school, life, and knowledge of God.  Trainings will take place on Thursday July 18 at 6:30PM until 8:00 and will be repeated Saturday July 20th from 10:00AM until 11:30.
    This training will be conducted by Joanne Harthoorn who is a life-long educator and by her son James Harthoorn who has taught GED and holds a Masters of Divinity degree focused in counseling.  It will feature techniques that have been proven on James and his wife Bukky’s daughter Liviya and son Jedidiah.
    Liviya Harthoorn was able to read at a 4th grade level before she turned 4.  Liviya is blessed with a good mind, but that is only part of the equation; she also has had the opportunity to learn using methods that work.  She has learned over 150 bible verses, has a great start in math, is doing well in writing and art, and most importantly has developed a love for learning.   
    The jump start that she has been given is repeatable and requires as little time as a half hour a day.  Liviya’s younger brother Jedidiah is also being given the same opportunities and loves his time spent learning.  He knew his letter sounds before turning two and is working on reading basic sight words and is starting to memorize as well.

Instead it is offered to help parents, children, and our community.  Parents/Grandparents will leave with a lot of ideas and some materials to start using right away.  Participants will also be made aware of many resources that are either free or inexpensive.  The training will take place at 16814 Wax Rd. in Greenwell Springs, LA.  Also please check out www.burningheartcf.org for more information and to see videos of Liviya and Jedidiah demonstrating a little of what they have learned.
