Megan Miller is known for several recent high-profile accomplishments, including being named 2012 Miss Greater Baton Rouge, fourth runner-up in the 2012 Miss Louisiana pageant, and American Idol contestant.  Last week, she made the rounds to several CCSS schools to talk to young girls, after which she performed a song.
Among the topics that Megan touched on were lifting each other up, overcoming failure, learning from mistakes, perseverance, and being confident.  Megan shared her experiences in pageants and auditioning for American Idol, and she took questions from the audience.  Two important points that she shared were, “If you don’t believe in yourself, others won’t, either,” and, “Don’’t let anyone give you a reason to stop trying, to stop working hard.”  Special thanks goes to the Republican Women of Central and Roxanne Atkinson for helping to arrange the visits.
