Heart Screenings Available for CCSS Athletes

    Attention parents of Central Community School System athletes.    On April 23rd and 25th members from Jump Start Your Heart (JSYH) and Baton Rouge EMS will be at Central High School to administer heart screenings to our athletes.  The target range is for athletes that are currently in the 8th (will be Freshmen next year) through 12th grade.   Dr. Stephen Kelly of the Southeastern Cardiovascular Clinic will be on hand both days to review the test of each student athlete.  JSYH will be doing echocardiograms and BR EMS will be doing electrocardiograms.  Together these test would cost over $1,000; but your student athlete will have the opportunity to receive these potentially life saving tests for a donation of $20 (CASH ONLY).  The testing will start at 4pm each day and will be held in the Athletic Training Room of CHS.  There is some paperwork to fill out prior to the screening.  These forms can be picked up in the main office of the school your child attends prior to your screening day or at the point of service.  Please call Bryan Hutson at 262-2777 or Alison Porche at 337-7197 to let us know what day we should expect to see you and your child(ren).  This is a great opportunity to receive this service and we are thankful of those that make it possible through Jump Start Your Heart and Baton Rouge EMS.
