After seven months of treatment at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston for Multiple Myeloma, Clif Richardson, former representative from house district  65, came home on Saturday, March 2nd.
Multiple Myeloma is type of cancer that starts in the plasma cells, a type of white blood cell, which is the most common type of plasma cell cancer.
One of the treatments is a stem cell transplant.  During the procedure to extract the stem cells he went into cardiac arrest and was revived. Then while going through the complex procedure he was diagnosed with the flu.  Due to the stem cell extraction and the flu his white cell count went down to near zero and the situation became very serious. His immune system is still very weak so he must have a very limited physical contact with anyone.
During the last seven months Clif and Diane have been back and forth to Houston several times and have not been back home to Central since November 11th.
When they arrived home on Saturday afternoon, March 2nd, the subdivision street leading to their house was lined with dozens of American Flags, welcome signs, about forty friends, neighbors, and family members standing in the cold breeze.
As they turned into the subdivision street Clif said, “ look at all the flags…and look at all the people.” Clif said he was overwhelmed and will never forget the welcome he received.
Clif and Diane wish to thank  everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time and ask that you continue because there is a long difficult road ahead.
