From the City of Central
The city of Central, Louisiana (“Owner”) is requesting cost proposals from Louisiana-licensed contractors for the Landsdowne Rd Sidewalk Improvements. The project consists of approximately 375 linear feet of 5 foot-wide concrete sidewalk, embankment work, incidentals, and retaining wall, and shall be defined as described in the project specifications and drawings and shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to fully complete the project described therein.
The project shall commence within two weeks from the Notice to Proceed issuance and shall be completed within 30 consecutive calendar days. The Contractor shall be charged Liquidated Damages in the amount of $250.00 per calendar day for each consecutive calendar day beyond the completion date.

Sealed bids for this project will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Central City Hall, 13421 Hooper Rd, Ste 9, Central, LA 70818 or online at www.PublicPurchase.com. The proposals shall be submitted by one prime Contractor who shall be solely responsible for the entire project and for the coordination with all other Subcontractors that may be required to complete the aforesaid project. The Contractor shall use the provided Proposal Form to submit his bid. This form may be found at www.centralgov.com or at www.PublicPurchase.com under the City of Central.
The Contractor is required to hold valid, current insurance certificates throughout the course of the work, and must provide written copies of these certificates to the Owner. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. Bidders are advised to comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal and State Government.
The Contractor is required to hold valid insurance certificates covering General Public Liability and Property Damage in the amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, automobile liability, workman’s compensation liability, as well as fire and extended coverage insurance throughout the course of the work, and must provide written copies to the Owner.
The Owner has the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with the Louisiana Public Bid Law. Bids are valid for a period of 45 days. The project, if awarded, shall be awarded on the basis of the lowest Base Bid and any Alternates. If at the time this Contract is bid, and the lowest Bid submitted by a responsive Bidder does exceed the amount of available funds to finance the Contract, the Owner may reject all Bids.
