Central High (2-0) came out bowling more like the team their coaches expected and made the past Monday’s struggles a distant memory.  On Wednesday (1-30-13) the Wildcats took on Baton Rouge High (0-2) and almost pulled off a sweep winning 26-1.

Central won all three games easily by winning Game 1 8-0 (905-582 Total Pins), Game 2 7-1 (991-631) and Game 3 8-0 (1010-593).  Central won by 1100 Total Pins, 2906 to 1806.  In Game 1 the Wildcats were led by Bryan Waites (Captain/Senior) with a 212.  In Games 2 & 3, Jacob Garretson (Sophomore) led Central with games of 242 and 268.  The 268 is a new Central High’s Boys school record!  He upped the previous record of 267 by a pin, which Garretson also shot last year.  Also, Garretson was high on the team in series with a 647, followed by Waites with a 558 and Sarah Leduff (Freshman) with a 466 (160 game).

Also on Wednesday, Denham Springs (3-0) pulled off a huge win by beating Scotlandville (2-1) and set up a match for early control of the District 5A.  Central bowled against Denham Springs on Monday (2-4-13) for first place of the District 5A.
