Andrew Sibley Graduates from Navy Corpsman Program

    Andrew Sibley lifetime resident of Central and Eagle Scout from Troop 13, graduates from Navy Corpsman (A school) on Jan 24th, 2013 and is assigned to Parris Island South Carolina which is home to one of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot.  He will be a medic at this Marine basic training post.
    He graduated as part of the joint Navy Corpsman Program and Air Force Basic Medical Technician program at the Medical Education & Training Campus at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as part of Class 250/005.  The class graduated 117 Corpsman and Basic Medical Technician Airman.  After 2011, all military basic medical training takes place at Fort Sam Houston although the Army program is still separate and focuses on battle field medicine. 
    Andrew entered the Navy last summer, swearing in at the naval station, New Orleans and then traveled to the Naval Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Andrew was a member of Recruit Division 291, which earned Battle E, CNO (Chief of Naval Operations award), Scholastic, Drill, Athletic, and Inspection honors. He graduation from basic on September 14, 2012 which included 885 sailors.
    After Andrew fulfills his commitment to the Navy he plans to pursue his education in the medical field.
