Two Arrested in Burglary of Local Home

East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Deputies were dispatched to a residence located at 11979 Gurney Rd.on a burglary in progress.

The victim arrived home and noticed a strange vehicle(white dodge durango) under his carport and the rear door to his residence open.

The victim heard noises in the residence and observed the accused and his accomplice fleeing out the front door of his residence as he entered through the back door. The victim fled out the back door and went to his vehicle and retrieved his hand gun. the victim was between the suspects and their vehicle . The suspects came around the house with their hands up. The victims father arrived and they had both suspects at gun point on the ground until  EBRSO Lt Jared Ruiz ,DyThomas Weimer and Lt.Darryl Michelli  arrived moments later. The homeowner dosent know either suspect . Detective Michelli read both suspects their rights per miranda warnings at which time they stated they understood. Suspect Dionseus Wilkens admitted that he and Brandon Wright went into the residence but he just followed Wright into the residence  and that nobody was home. Wilkens stated that the homeowner came in on them and held them at gunpoint until Deputies arrived. 

Wilkens stated that Brandon  Wright was going to burglarize the house but he was just with him in the house.Wilkensfurther stated that they burglarized residences on Jacocks Rd about two months ago in Zachary where they stole electronics from several residences. A witness observed their white in color utility vehicle in the area at the time of the burlgaries. Wilkens stated that the vehicle they were caught in today, a white Dodge Durango, is the vehicle they were using at the Jacock Rd. burglaries.

Dionseus Wilkins and Brandon Wright were  booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for three counts of Simple Burglary of an Inhabitted Dwelling and one count of Attempted Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling,
