The mission of the City of Central Chamber of Commerce has been to guide, inspire, and promote the business and professional interests of its members and to enhance the economic, cultural and recreational opportunities for the citizens of Central. With the close of 2012, we can look back to see what steps were taken in order to fulfill this mission.  Here is a list of a few accomplishments in 2012: Implemented the Chamber Master website thus greatly improving our members exposure to the web based community and our ability to adequately service our members, held the Krewe de Centrale Mardi Gras Ball, hosted the 2 day LSU Small Business Mobile Classroom, brought in a variety of informative speakers to our member luncheons,  produced a directory, held an Awards Banquet to honor chamber businesses, purchased a location to house the chamber for years to come, started a weekly column to keep the public informed about the chamber, held over 25 ribbon cuttings at area business, added 37 new members, started a chamber discount program, produced the annual free coupon book, assisted in other community events, sponsored the Miss City of Central Beauty Pageant, and pulled off the 26th annual Christmas Festival and Parade.
Now, as we march boldly into 2013, the Chamber of Commerce is going to continue to improve on our mission to encourage local commerce and enhance our community. You can help!  We want to encourage the community to help us make the Central business community extremely successful!  One of the best ways you can do this is by continuing to support our local businesses.  We have many outstanding retailers and service providers in the Central area.  Wouldn’t it be great if 2013 was their most prosperous ever!  When you shop in our community and utilize our local service providers, you are helping to support the growth of our local commerce as well as also producing revenues for our fine city and our excellent schools.  During 2013, let’s renew our efforts to do as much business as possible with our local merchants, service providers, and chamber members!  Let’s have a great 2013!
