CHS Weightlifting Victorious at Tournament

    This past Saturday, the Central High School Olympic Weightlifting team participated in the Gayle Hatch Christmas Invitational.  The meet was an open meet, meaning competition came from all age groups.  1st Place winners included Tyler Stinig-47KG class, Cole Holden-56KG class, Hunter Cazes-69KG class, and Hunter Johns-77KG class. 2nd Place winners were Micha Venable-56KG class, Spencer Ramsey-69KG class, and Ashton Stokes-105 +KG class. 3rd place winners were Eddie Anderson in the 105KG class, and Brandon Lee 105+KG class. Other lifters making a great showing were Caleb Moore and Landry. The team won the overall championship while being coached by Garrett Ramsey and Mike Gardner.  Ashton Stokes was the lifter lifting the highest weight with a 280Lb clean and jerk and a 210lb snatch.  Pound for pound, the strongest lifters were Hunter Johns with a 175 lb snatch and 250 lb clean and jerk with a body weight 160lbs, and Hunter Cazes with a 175 lb Snatch and a 245lb clean and jerk with a body weight of 245lbs.  Hunter Cazes  also qualified for Junior Nationals, a high honor which will take place in California in February.
