Thanksgiving Night House Fire

    A house fire on Greenwell Springs road flared to life on Thanksgiving night around 10:00. The Central Fire Department had the fire under control less than an hour after receiving the call. The house was occupied at the time, but no one was injured. There was an estimated $75,000 loss to the property, but the home was saved. The fire started on the second floor bathroom from a space heater. 
    Baton Rouge and Eastside Fire Departments assisted in controlling the blaze and the Red Cross was called to assist the family.
