Nominate Central’s Citizen of the Year

    Representatives of Central's charitable organizations will be selecting Central's 2012 "Citizen of the Year" in December.  Send your nomination of 1,000 words or less to [email protected] or P.O. Box 78137, Central, LA  70837.  Central's "Citizen of the Year" will be a resident of the City of Central or the Central Community School District whose actions, efforts and service during 2012 have been significant, selfless, and dedicated to the betterment of the Central Community. Lifetime Citizenship Awards may also be given for persons who have displayed a continuous dedication to the Central Community.  Nominations are due by December 10th.  
    Last year's recipients were Wayne Leader and the young men and women of the Amite River Preservation Association.  A Lifetime Citizenship Award was given to Pete and Anna Marie Grissom for their many years of dedicated service running the Central Food Bank.
