Central vs Mandeville in 2nd Round

By  |

Central (10-1) will play Mandeville (8-2) tomorrow night in Wildcat Stadium in the 2nd round of the playoffs.  Central handled Ponchatoula 52-28 last week and Mandeville cruised to a 31-0 win over Covington.
Mandeville has a talented defense that has held their opponents under their scoring average.  Players to watch are Preston Winget No. 45, a linebacker.  He had 6 tackles and a 40 yard interception for a touchdown last week.  Defensive back Todd Primo No. 3 also had a 58 yard interception for a touchdown last week.  Offensively, quarterback Glen Cuiellette No.9, is a big guy who can run and throw.  No. 19 Zach Boudreaux and No. 7 Zachary Tircuit are both talented receivers who can get behind defenders.
Look for the Wildcats to continue to rely on senior quarterback Brett Courville, junior Gary Triplett and running back Lamonte Juneau to provide most of the offensive spark this week. They have done a great job for Central all year.  Keep in mind Central has many offensive weapons and they call on those guys for big plays at crucial times.
This is a game where the defense will have to continue to make big plays.  The cornerbacks and safeties will have their hands full tomorrow night.  Come out and support the Wildcats as they win their way to the dome!
