In Memoriam: Ralph Carpenter

    He was born in Springfield and was a resident of Central. Ralph died at 4:30pm Wednesday, November 07, 2012 at his residence. He was 77.   
    Ralph was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union #198. He was a pipe welder and a former police officer with Baton Rouge Police Department for ten years, working in the Juvenile Division. He was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. 
    Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 5:00pm to 8:00pm Monday. Visitation will resume Tuesday at Blackwater United Methodist Church from 10:00am until the religious service at 11:00am, conducted by the Rev. Linda Hagan. Entombment will be at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum. 
    Ralph is survived by his wife of 59 years: Dorothy Louise Labello Carpenter; daughter: Donna Lynn Otadi & husband Mike; two sons: Randal J. Carpenter & wife Cindy and Daryl W. Carpenter; sister: Peggy Kilcrease  & husband Kenneth; nine grandchildren: Leah Raup, Lindy Carpenter, Brandi Patin, Derek Carpenter, Kristen C. McLemore, Dalton Carpenter, Kendall Carpenter, Kolby Carpenter and Joshua Otadi; 5 great-grandchildren: Jordon Patin, Everette Raup, Asher Raup, Mason McLemore and Micah McLemore. He was preceded in death by his parents: Randolph & Beulah King Carpenter; brother: Jerry Carpenter.
