Central 56, Live Oak 27
Central (9-1, 5-0) showed they have many weapons Friday night in front of a large home crowd as they rolled past Live Oak (5-5, 2-3) 56-27.  Central scored two quick touchdowns in the first quarter on passes from Brett Courville to Jake Myer and Devon Gales.  Live Oak put a touchdown on the board with 1:38 left in the first quarter on a five yard run by Wesley Howard.  Three plays later, Gary Triplett carried the ball around right end and put a spin move on the last defender on the way to a 52 yard score. Live Oak opened the second quarter with a 72 yard, 10 play drive culminating in a one yard run by Howard to make the score 21-12.  Two minutes later Courville again connected with Myer on a 25 yard TD pass.  By the end of the half, Live Oak and Central had both added touchdowns to make it 35-20.
Central’s defensive back Paul Broussard got the Wildcat’s off to a good start in the third quarter with an interception returning it 18 yards for a touchdown.   The defense shutdown Live Oak in the second half, forcing a fumble and an interception, only allowing the Eagles to score late in the fourth when victory was secured.
Coach Sid said after the game, “I’m so proud of these boys and the job they’ve done going 9-1.  That’s pretty impressive with the schedule we’ve played.”
