Most of us live in a nice house, drive good cars, and have our needs met. But that is not the case for all people, and  I'm not speaking of a third-world country.  There are some Americans right here in this great country of ours that are going without basic needs.
This year, over 15 more coal mines have been closed down in the hills of Kentucky and West Virginia.  Fathers have lost their jobs and families are in distress.  Winter is upon them and they need warm clothing, shoes, coats and blankets. The cupboard is bare, with no money in the money jar.  What a devastating situation they are facing.
Central Church is teaming with New Beginnings ministry of Liberty MS to help meet these needs.  This ministry has gone into this area (Appalachian Mt.) for years to show God's love through donations of His people.  Central Church is collecting items such as: gently used or new clean clothing, coats, jackets, shoes, boots, blankets, and non-perishable food items. Items can be dropped off at Central Church 11681 Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson Rd., Zachary, LA 70791 between the hours of 5-7pm. Sundays.
