Ronnie Devall Being Inducted into CHS Hall of Fame

    Ronnie E. Devall will be inducted to the Central High School Hall of Fame on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at halftime of the Central High and Denham Springs football game.  Game is set for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Wildcat Stadium.  There will be a reception in the new school cafeteria beforehand beginning at 5:30 PM.
    Mr. Devall is a 1966 graduate of Central High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1971.  He holds a Master of Education in administration and earned his Plus Thirty from Louisiana State University.  Mr. Devall’s career began in 1972 as a teacher and coach in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.  He remained in the education field until his retirement from the Central Community School System in the year 2010.  
    During Mr. Devall’s long, outstanding career, he served as a teacher, assistant coach, and head coach, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.  He was the head coach of Broadmoor High School for its 1985 and 1987 basketball state championships, and was Louisiana State 4-A Coach of the Year.  He was awarded the High School Principal of the Yea in East Baton Rouge Parish, the Southeast Region of Louisiana, and a finalist for the State Principal of the Year in 2004.  Mr. Devall served as the President of the East Baton Rouge Parish Principal’s Association from 2001-2007.  He guided Central High to “Exemplary Academic Growth” ranking and School Performance score of 112.4 in 2004-2005.
    Ronnie Devall has given a great deal to Central High School, the Central Community School District, and to the Community of Central.  He is a man that is well deserving of this honor.
