Parents & School Board Discuss Issues

By  |

Monday night a School Board committee meeting was held at Central Middle to hear concerns from a group of parents.  About 100 people attended the meeting including six CCSS School Board Members, parents, faculty and administrators.  Parents spoke for almost two hours and voiced concerns ranging from attendance and discipline policies to the lack of playground equipment.  Superintendent Faulk responded and explained how the School System intended to address the concerns and committed to work with the parents on these issues.  An additional result of this process is the formation of a parents group working to assist the School System, if needed, to raise funds for a playground.
