Serious Times Call for Serious Prayers
Many times we are not serious about something until things in our life get serious. For instance, some people don’t get serious about their grade until they see they are seriously failing. Or you see people not serious about work until the bills start getting seriously abundant.  Others hear of a hurricane coming their way and start planning parties; not taking it seriously at all until the power goes out for a couple of days.  The party is over because the electricity is out and now there is no food, nothing to drink, no A/C, and no ice.  That person is then thinking, “If I would have been serious about the storm I would have been ready and prepared.”
The same goes for many in the church, we have all been guilty of it; we don’t get serious with God until a tragedy has occurred. Have we become a people that will only get serious when tragedy strikes? Serious times are upon us and have been for a long time.  We have been conditioned to get serious and pray after we receive the bad news. May God’s people get serious and pray now, without ceasing, for we are in the midst of a serious and great tragedy.
The tragedy is this: a frivolous attitude of God’s people regarding sin, repentance, a heart for the lost, the gospel of Christ preached, spiritual warfare, the power of the Holy Ghost, and God’s will being done.  If we could truly understand the relentless war waging on the souls of all people, by Satan and his army of demons, we would realize the seriousness involved and we could not afford not to be on our knees in constant prayer.
Serious times call for serious prayers. Look around and take note of the condition of our world, our country, our families, and our churches –they are becoming more and more godless. It’s time to get serious; it’s time to pray.
Luke 17:28-30 as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
