Friday: CHS vs St Thomas More

By  |

Friday night Central has an opportunity to even the score after last year’s 24-0 early season loss to St. Thomas More.  Kickoff is at 7PM in Wildcat Stadium and the Cats will be wearing black.  The weather is forecast looks good and Central is looking to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Head Coach Sid Edwards talked with Central Speaks about the game and offered the following comments.  “Certainly St Thomas Moore is a much different animal than the teams we have seen so far this year in scrimmages and in our first regular season game.  I think they are talented and extremely well coached.  They are never going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.  You are not going to fool them.“ On the strength of Friday’s opponent Coach Sid explained, “They are better offensively than last year.  The biggest reason is that last year’s starter at QB is returning along with quite a few others on the offense.  I don’t think they are as good defensively as last year.”
The state rankings are out and St. Thomas More, after losing to Sulphur last week, is still ranked #10.  Central did not make the rankings, but a win Friday night could well change that.  Coach Sid says that Friday is an incredible challenge and one the fans should not miss.
