Early Morning House Fire Caused by Generator

Early Friday morning a home on J. L. Fairchild Road caught fire due to the use of a portable generator too close to the home.
According to the news release from the fire department, “The fire started from a portable generator too close to the home. The heat from the generator set the vinyl siding on fire on an outside wall. The fire went up the outside wall and into the attic. Fire was showing from the roof upon our arrival. Firefighters made a good stop. The closest fire hydrant was about 3000’ away.  We had to use a water tanker shuttle down a narrow road to get water to the fire.” Zachary, Pride, and Eastside fire departments assisted in putting out the blaze. No one in the home was injured.
