New Competition Dance Team in Zachary

    The Zachary Center for Performing Arts, home of the Children’s Moving Co., 5250 E. Mae St., Zachary, is proud to announce the 2012-2013 Competition Dance Team.  Members of the junior/senior team are Hannah Barnett, Rachel Britt, Natalie Mayeux, Allyson Robertson, and Hannah Robertson.  Petite team members are Gabreyela Gonzalez, Jace Smith, and Zoë Vicari.  Mini team members are Sydney Robertson, Adison Salcedo, and Jada Smith. 
    Under the direction of Becky Coxe and Shelly Lee, the team members recently completed a 15-hour intensive in dance training to prepare for the upcoming competition season.  All of these talented dancers will be competing for national titles in some of the nation’s top dance competitions.  The Children’s Moving Company have secured numerous regional and national titles over the last thirty years.
    In addition to competitive performances this year, the dancers will participate in the Zachary Christmas activities, Z-fest, LAPHERD’s Kaleidoscope, and several Mardi Gras Parades. Last year, the studio was awarded as 1st place marching group for the Zachary Christmas parade. Their dance instructors and families would like to wish them good luck in the upcoming year and best wishes on their road to nationals.
    We also welcome to the staff this year, Lisa Easterly teaching gymnastics.  Formally with Peggy’s dance studio, Lisa will be offering gymnastic and tumbling classes on Saturday mornings and private classes on Sundays starting after Labor Day.
