Elvin and Lena McGee Celebrate 50 years Together

    Elvin and Lena McGee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, July 28 with a renewal of their wedding vows at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Central.  Officiating was Deacon Phil BeJeaux.  Both the Matron of Honor, Vicki Welborn Lockhart of Piedmont, OK and Best Man, Kenney J. McGee of Houston, TX were in attendance.  Other members of the wedding party present were Tony Calderone and James Monteaux.   
    A reception in their honor was given by their daughter, Danette McGee, at Elegant Memories in Central.  Dinner and dancing were enjoyed by family and friends, as well as a birthday celebration for Elvin since the couple was married on his birthday.  
     The McGees were married on July 28, 1962 at St. Joseph’s Church, now Cathedral, by Father Stanley Joseph Ott, who later served as the Bishop of Baton Rouge.
