In Memoriam: Joyce Montgomery Kelly

Joyce Montgomery Kelly, a native and resident of Central, LA, died on Monday, July 30th, at 3:55 AM at The Carpenter House at the age of 86. She retired from the East Baton Rouge School System after serving as school secretary at Central High School for 34 years and is a member of the Central High School Hall of Fame. 
    Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, August 2nd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visiting resumes on Friday, August 3rd at Blackwater United Methodist Church, 10000 Blackwater Road, Baker, LA, 70714 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Service will be conducted by Rev. Linda Hagan. Burial immediately following the service at the Blackwater United Methodist Church cemetery. 
    Survived by her husband of 69 years, John W. Kelly, Jr, her son, John W. Kelly, III (daughter-in-law, Maureen) of Mandeville, LA; her daughter, Tara K. Bryan (son-in-law, Jim) of Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Bailey Rose Kelly, Luke Montgomery Bryan, Paige Victoria Bryan, and Shea Rebecca Bryan; two sisters: Nel Rose Bailey and Carmel Christine McLaughlin; two brothers: Thomas H. Montgomery, Jr. (Lou) and Kenneth Craig Montgomery (Betty); and ten nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. and Wilma C. Montgomery; and a nephew: Thomas H. Montgomery, III. Pallbearers are her grand nephews: James Bailey, Lee Berman, Sam Berman, Joseph Casselberry, Brian Lopez-Ona, Eugene Lopez-Ona, Jr., and Michael McLaughlin. Honorary Pallbearers are grand nephews: Ian Boyd, Jonathan Boyd, and Dennis McLaughlin.  
    She was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Blackwater United Methodist Church.
