The problem of discolored water experienced in a number of Central homes has gotten much press recently. As a result, a number of community members have scheduled an open community meeting to discuss the issue next Tuesday night after the 6PM City Council meeting at Kristenwood at 14025 Greenwell Springs Road. Central Speaks is in the process of researching the issue and will be sharing those results over the next few weeks.
As a part of our information gathering we would like to know if you regularly experience the "brown water" problem. If so, please consider sending an email to
[email protected] and giving us your address or at least the street name and closest intersection to your home. We will collect any data we receive and use that to inform Parish Water of the concerns of the Central community. Up to this point Parish Water has been very open to sharing information and offering solutions, and they say they stand ready to be involved any time a specific problem is identified.
In the meantime, be aware that last night Parish Water Company was scheduled to flush the water lines in Geo-Je's and Country Roads subdivisions from 11 PM until 5 AM. This can result in discolored water for a short period of time. The water company suggests that anyone seeing discolored water should open the faucet farthest away from where the water lines enter the home and run the water until the discoloration disappears. Look for more information on this issue next week in Central Speaks.
