Work Progresses on Roundabout

By  |

Central Community School System Construction Coordinator Ross Bogan expressed optimism about the progress that is being made on the roundabout on Sullivan Road in front of the new Central schools.  “We’re working crews 7 days a week,” Mr. Bogan shared, “They’re working 12 hours a day in the heat to get the project completed on time.  It’s a tight schedule, but accomplishable.”  Right now, the crews are in the process of removing the old pavement.  After the pavement is gone, the new storm piping will be laid and the bed for the new roundabout prepared.  Once the roundabout itself is paved, they will pour the driveways to access the school property. The CCSS donated the land necessary to build the roundabout so that no citizen’s land would be affected. The scheduled completion date for the project is August 9.  Please remember that the intersection of Sullivan and Gurney Roads will be closed until the roundabout is complete.
