Hunter Davis, a resident of Central, and former Central High School student, who recently graduated from Parkview Baptist School, has earned a position on the Louisiana High School National Rodeo Team.  Hunter and his team roping partner, Ricky Decuir from Erwinville, LA, won the Louisiana State High School team roping championship this year and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Rock Springs, Wyoming from July 15th – 21st to compete at the 64th Annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) in team roping.

Featuring over 1,500 contestants from 41 states, five Canadian Provinces, and Australia, the National High School Finals is the world’s largest rodeo.  In addition to competing for over $200,000 in prizes, NHSFR contestants will also be competing for more than $300,000 in college scholarships and the chance to be named the National High School Rodeo National Champion.  To earn this title, contestants must finish in the top twenty after two Go-Rounds of intense competition before advancing to Saturday night’s final championship performance.  The NHSFR is schedule to air on RFD-TV and you can also catch all of the action live via iHigh.com on their audio web cast.
