The polls are open from 6AM until 8PM Saturday, which means you can vote before OR after Cooking in Central! On the ballot are the Republican and Democratic Presidential Primaries as well as representatives to the Parish and State Republican and Democratic party committees. As always, Central Speaks does not endorse any candidates, but encourages everyone to get out and vote. Central Residents are involved in three races.
In Republican Parish Executive Committee District 4, current Committee Member Billy Thompson, defends his seat against Junior Shelton. At the state level District 65-C of the Republican State Central Committee, Central residents Barry Ivey and Jared Smith vie for the seat. In state District 65-B Billy Thompson faces Brennan Easley, both of Central. Finally, Dalton Honore of Central faces off with Joshua Hollins of BR for the Democratic State Central Committee seat for District 65-B.
