From Pastor Dick Metz, Cornerstone Fellowship Church
Dear Heavenly Father, we first want to praise You. You are an awesome, holy, righteous, wonderful, loving God. You have created the world, and every one of us! We praise You for Your Son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for our sins, that we can be Your children by faith. We praise You, Holy Spirit, for living in us and enabling us to live Godly lives! We humble ourselves before You and declare our total dependence on You!
Lord, we confess that we are weak and inadequate to live the Godly life You have called us to live. Our lives have often been characterized by rebellion, disobedience, and apathy. Forgive us O Lord! Thank You for forgiving our sins.
Thank You Lord for every blessing we have in Christ and in Central. You have enabled us to become a city, to establish a school system, to have flourishing businesses, and churches with Godly leadership. Thank You for our local government, and the integrity in which it operates! Thank You for each family in Central. Lord, please bless and protect our government, our schools, our churches, our businesses, and our families.
As Your children, Lord, we ask Your blessing and protection upon the people of our city. We have recently experienced many accidents and other hurtful circumstances. Extend Your hand of blessing and protection over our city. Use every difficult circumstance to draw us closer to Your Son Jesus Christ! Give us wisdom to make good decisions, and to live responsibly before You and the other residents of Central. Pour out Your grace and love upon each person who is experiencing tough times.
Finally Lord, we know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. According to Your word, we take our stand against the devil’s schemes. Show us God, where we have opened doors for demonic oppression in our lives and in the life of our city. Make us quick to repent, and to come quickly to You for help and deliverance! Once again, we place our faith in Your Son, Our Savior, Jesus Christ!
We pray this prayer over our city in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
