Sid Edwards Show Evolving to Include More Community Info & CP Sports News
Press Release
Two new features are now part of The Sid Edwards Show. Airing each Thursday night, 5PM-6PM, and broadcasting live from Fox’s Pizza Den in Central on WPFC Radio, 1550AM, The Sid Edwards Show will feature a weekly look at the City of Central via “The Leader Report.” In addition, the program will have a weekly guest and/or feature on Central Private School athletics.
Producer Jon Fine (of Jon Fine Sports Productions) was excited about these additions to The Sid Edwards Show. “Coach Sid and (Co-Host) Steve Johnson continue to have their program evolve to incorporate more positive things that are happening in the City of Central. Certainly the fulcrum of the program is and always will be Central High School athletics. Yet, whether it is City of Central academic achievements, Central political guests or cultural events in the city, The Sid Edwards Show really captures the essence of the City of Central. Their ‘Leader Report’ and weekly feature on Central Private athletics continues the fine tradition of The Sid Edwards Show in painting a broad, positive brush on the City of Central.”
Fine also thanked the Central Speaks newspaper. “Much of the information used in ‘The Leader Report’ will be based on the table of contents from Central Speaks. Coach Sid and Steve will certainly give attribution to this quality newspaper, even if they don’t know what the word ‘attribution’ means.”
“The Leader Report” is sponsored by and named after Wayne and Diane Leader. The Leaders own AA Mini-Storage and Central Super Suds Car Wash and have been known for their long-time community involvement in the City of Central.
Fine also produces Central High School football broadcasts on WPFC, 1550AM and SportsGumbo.net. In addition, Jon Fine Sports Productions produces Denham Springs HS football broadcasts, The Dru Nettles Show, Episcopal HS football broadcasts and Plaquemine Sports Weekly. All can be heard on different radio stations and on SportsGumbo.net.
