Entergy Louisiana Now Offering PaperFREE Billing

CENTRAL— Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C. participated in numerous activities and events across the state to celebrate Earth Day. But the companies are encouraging customers to join employees in making every day Earth Day with ongoing commitments, choices and changes for a clean, sustainable environment.

As part of these efforts, Entergy’s Louisiana utilities offer customers a service that can save trees, time and money. It’s called PaperFREE Billing and it’s free to customers that register for My Account Online, Entergy’s Internet-based account transaction and information resource.

According to research, if all United States households viewed and paid their bills electronically each year, it could save 18.5 million trees. It would also avoid 2.2 billion tons of toxic air pollutants and 1.7 billion pounds of solid waste, and save 15.8 billion gallons of water.

            “Enrolling for PaperFREE Billing allows customers to be worry free, clutter free and postage free when it comes to their utility bills,” Entergy Customer Service Manager Mary Broussard said. “As important, PaperFREE online account information and transactions provide round-the-clock access without the processing and waste associated with a paper bills. The service is a win-win for customers and the environment.”

Entergy Corporation was the first utility company to voluntarily reduce greenhouse gas emissions below year 2000 levels and has beaten the reduction goal by more than 30 percent. The company was named the second-cleanest electric generator among the nation’s top ten and is the recipient of the Environmental Protection Agency Climate Protection Award.

Using PaperFREE Billing

An e-mail notifies customers when their bill is ready, and they can see and pay it online at any time. A cell phone text message or e-mail alert can also remind customers when their payment is due. To enroll in PaperFREE Billing, registered users of My Account Online can simply log in and select the PaperFREE bill delivery option. Customers not yet registered for My Account Online can do so at entergy.com using their Entergy account number and zip code.
