The Rebels began district play by taking 2 out of 3 versus a very stout Centreville team. In game 1, Centreville put LSU commitment, Hunter Devall , on the mound against Central Private’s potent offense. Devall was on his “A” game as he shut down the Rebels bats holding them to 2 hits on the game. Centreville took game 1 in a 6 – 0 decision. Left handed, junior, Hunter Devall was the winning pitcher for the game. In game two Central Private and Centreville battled all the way to the bottom of the 7th inning with Centreville holding a 4–3 advantage. Centreville brought in Hunter Devall to close the game and save the win. However, with the intentional walk of Seth Stevens to load the bases, Devall went on to walk in the game tieing run and eventually the game winning run for the Rebels giving them the 5 – 4 victory. Sophomore, right hander, Brennan Fucich was the winning pitcher for Central Private. In the rubber game, Centreville jumped out to an early 2 – 0 lead until in the bottom of the 5th inning Seth Stevens, Brennan Fucich, and Hunter Wallace each had an RBI to give Central Private the 3 – 2 lead that they would hold on to for the victory. Blake Chelette was the winning pitcher for the Rebels and Ryan Young got the save.

Central Private Coach Jason Kinchen had this two say about the recent series. “After Duvall shoved it to us the first game of the series, it was nice to see the fellas bounce back and take two from Centreville to win the series. Both teams showed guts and character in both games, however, we were fortunate enough to prevail. In game one, Fucich did a nice job of keeping us in the ball game giving us a chance to win it in the bottom of the 7th. In game two, Blake Chelette showed me what he was made out of by pitching a complete game to help us win the series. I was a bit concerned with Blake because of a injury to his non-throwing arm that happened in game one with him diving for a ball in centerfield. However, I was proud of the way he sucked it up and gave Centreville all they wanted. It was a team effort! Still waiting for our bats to heat up!”
